From Corporate America to the Front Row.

For nearly two decades, I navigated the high-stakes world of corporate design and marketing, building a foundation of 19 years of professional expertise. During that time, I was responsible for creating work that looked "nice" and polished—work that met the corporate standard but ultimately lacked the personal passion I was searching for.

Everything shifted in May of 2022 when I discovered the music of the Grateful Dead. That discovery was the spark that got the ball rolling. I began a daily practice of listening to a new song and interpreting the music through a set of "fresh eyes".

This process allowed me to rediscover my creative energy and shifted my focus permanently. I moved away from the "nice" corporate aesthetic and toward work that had a true heartbeat—capturing the raw, authentic energy of the community and the unposed moments that make live music and life feel real.

The Momentum: The "Snowball" Effect

With my creative energy reignited, I took my 19 years of professional expertise and focused it entirely on the music community. In September 2022, ahead of attending Renewal, I proactively reached out to members of the Billy Strings merchandise team with a custom poster set designed to showcase my specific skill set.

The team loved the duo I created, and that specific connection proved to be the spark that set the ball rolling. It was the validation I needed to see that my "perspective"—a blend of professional marketing strategy and a deep-rooted passion for the scene—filled a vital gap in how we document the musical experience.

Since that first project, my career has snowballed, leading me to document the bluegrass, funk, and jam band circuit across the country.

Beyond the camera, Jolene is the founder of You Enjoy My Marketing (YEMM)—a Charlotte, NC-based PR and marketing agency.

The name is a playful nod to the Phish song "You Enjoy Myself," inspired by a story of connection.
